Introducing Steve Warner

This summer, many of you will have the chance to speak with ARMAC's newest employee, Steve Warner. His primary responsibility will be to run up the phone bill and pound the pavement showing customers how we can offer them focused visual solutions. What brings him to ARMAC is a desire to be a part of, "A company that has a vision to expand their established product line and customer base with 21st century innovation." Steve currently resides just outside of Atlanta in Lawrenceville, GA. He enjoys working within the C-store industry, because, "The convenience business is a fast paced environment, and that matches my high energy level well." His experience in the industry paired with a naturally creative and perceptive mind make Steve well-suited for his new role. He has a ...

Here We Go: Sewing & Bending Things

To the average person, a sewing machine might appear out of place in a print shop's warehouse. But this is not your average Singer and we are not taking up embroidery. We are constantly expanding our capabilities to make ARMAC your one-stop shop for custom signage and our new sewing machine is one of the recent purchases that will increase our repertoire.

There are quite a few challenges involved in printing banners. The bendable nature of the vinyl material demands that we print banners on a specific digital press. Once the banner is printed, it requires a hem and grommets. With the purchase of a sewing machine, we can finish this process in house. While we are still working on a way to ship orders "yesterday", cutting out the extra outsourcing step will help us fulfill you...

Global Shop 2008

I made a visit to Global Shop 2008 in Chicago this year. Global Shop is a tradeshow that features exhibitors covering all facets of store design and in-store marketing. It also happens to be the largest show of its kind in the world, with over 800 exhibitors and 8,000 products and services. This show facilitated me meeting face to face with many of our current vendors, including FFR, Rose Displays, Pace Industries, and Catalina Graphic Films. Meeting individuals I had previously only spoken with and learning about the additional products and services they offer was very beneficial. What I was most excited about are the companies and items I discovered for the first time that would enable ARMAC to expand our current lineup. Among these are: new wallpaper textures, green (environmentally fri...

ARMAC Goes Green!

In 2007, ARMAC continued its quest for environmentally beneficial methods and programs throughout the operations of the company.

The first program, enacted in June of this year, provided for the cleaning and reusing of shop towels in the screen printing department. Due to the nature of the screen printing process, towels are used frequently to clean ink from screens, frames, and presses. Previously towels had been purchased, used, and discarded. ARMAC now utilizes a shop towel cleaning service that provides heavy-duty cloth towels. After the towels are used, they are picked up and cleaned, and returned to ARMAC for reuse. These towels meet our production needs and will significantly reduce the amount of waste the company discards.

ARMAC has also decided to participate in a Styrene ...<img src="http://armac-pop.com/cms/uploads/blog/armac-goes-green.jpg" width="300" height="180">
